Thousands of demonstrators gathered outside the shut-down ERT public broadcast centre this evening after riot police raided the building in the early hours.
The centre in a northern suburb of Athens had been occupied by media workers since the government closed it down in June, and they continued to broadcast programmes round the clock.

The global union federation Public Services International joins Greek workers taking to the streets today in a general strike to protest the continued cuts to decent jobs and public services imposed by the ‘Troika’.
